NATIONAL DIAGNOSTIC REPORT ON THE QUALITY OF MUNICIPAL PUBLIC SERVICES: ALBA IULIA, BAIA MARE, BAC\u0102U, CONSTAN\u021aA, DEVA, GIURGIU, R\u00c2MNICU V\u00c2LCEA, SECTOR 1<\/span><\/p>\n

In the run-up to the 2024 elections, Romania is in a moment of transition and reconfiguration of national priorities. The post-pandemic period has brought with it significant challenges in areas such as health, economy and education, and the government and local administration are facing pressure to restore balance and implement effective recovery policies. This stage of Romania’s evolution is marked by an increased focus on sustainable development issues, digitalization, and improving public services at the local level. With an interested and informed electorate, the 2024 elections represent a crucial opportunity to shape the country’s future and to address national priorities with a clear and sustainable vision.<\/span><\/p>\n

The benchmarking study was carried out between 2021 and 2023 and covered 8 local authorities (Alba Iulia, Baia Mare, Bac\u0103u, Constan\u021ba, Deva, Giurgiu, R\u00e2mnicu V\u00e2lcea, Sector 1). In order to carry out the monitoring of how public services (education, public transport and waste management) are managed, both the legal provisions to be respected by local public authorities, according to the legislation in force, and international best practices and recommendations were taken into account.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a result of direct experience and the hundreds of requests we mediate annually between citizens and local governments across the country, we have found that the main public services provided at the local level that need improvement are education, public transport and waste management. Improving them can only be achieved through your direct involvement.<\/span><\/p>\n

Whatever role you want to assume as a citizen, the first step is to get the right information.
